Women in Stem: Dare to take the road less traveled!
It’s take your daughter to work day on Cat Breet’s live show! Do you know any young women who are interested in STEM careers? BRING THEM to our live chat on 3/30!
What happened when one young woman dared to leave the safety of her family and hometown behind to pursue a male-dominated career in biomechanics? She changed science, and she changed lives! Today, as a biomechanical engineer, Dr. Kirsten Tulchin-Francis and her team use leading-edge motion capture technology (14 cameras!) to provide doctors with quantitative analysis of movement, so that they can make decisions about the best treatment options for injured athletes. She is driving innovation in orthopedics, prosthetics and healing. And, she’s also helping with injury prevention!
Dr. Kirsten Tulchin-Francis is Division Director of Movement Science at Scottish Rite for Children Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Texas.
