She calls herself the “Reluctant Entrepreneur,” but Michelle LaFrance has no regrets about jumping out on her own 19 years ago. When 9/11 hit, Michelle LaFrance’s dream job – and a paycheck – disappeared almost overnight. Her chances of finding another full-time job in the high-tech industry looked grim, so she decided to start a company and named it Smarty Pants Web Marketing. She found a niche in the housing industry and was chugging along beautifully until the next challenge came in the form of the 2008 recession. This time it was a matter of saving her new company and her income from drying up all over again. Instead of giving up, she stood up, looked around, and asked herself “Where’s the money now?” She quickly found another niche to hang her hat on, and it’s kept her busy in 2020 with a nice long list of happy clients. But she isn’t sitting on her laurels. She just became a Codebreaker coach and is teaching others how to unlock the secrets to their success.
